Seoul

The author describes arriving in Seoul after taking the KTX train from Suncheon in approximately two and a half hours. They walked from Yongsan Station to their hostel in the Hongdae region.

After spending one night in Hongdae, where they "found the best Hamburger I've ever had in my life," they met friends in Itaewon, described as "Foreigner central." The author notes meeting people from various countries and learning a game called "Teacher or Soldier" for spotting other Westerners. Despite typically trying local cuisine, after three weeks of "rice and soup for most meals," they appreciated Western food options in this area.

The author then visited Gyeongbokgung Palace to witness the changing of the guard ceremony. They note: "it's more something to be witnessed and visited, but if you ever make it to Seoul, it is definitely a must-see." Additional photos were posted to Flickr.
