Seogwipo
After visiting Jeju's stone park, I traveled south to Seogwipo, discovering what felt like "a whole new side to the island." The winding mountain road offered views reminiscent of Vermont or Maine before opening onto a harbor town at sunset.
I walked the final kilometers to explore the coast, though the journey proved steep uphill to the guesthouse. That evening, curiosity led to discovering a waterfall accessible via a short wooded path near the docks, where a distinctive pier structure connected to a small offshore island with pleasant ambient music.
Impressed by the nighttime scenery, I returned at sunrise to experience the same coastal areas in daylight. The trail circling the island proved rewarding, offering spectacular views as the sun rose. After revisiting the waterfall briefly, I departed to pursue another attraction on that end of the island.
The experience emphasized how timing and weather can transform a destination's character, and how returning to a location in different lighting reveals new dimensions of its beauty.
